In House Lab

At Animal Medical Hospital, our in-house laboratory is fully equipped.  Our in house lab work is used for yearly wellness screenings, to check the overall health of an animal before any surgery, and to help with diagnostics and monitoring of any problems for your pet. This equipment allows us to monitor the function of your pet’s liver, kidneys, thyroid, adrenal glands, and bone marrow.

Blood Work Machines

In house blood work includes:

  • Complete Blood Count
  • Serum Biochemistry
  • Thyroid Monitoring
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Heartworm and Tick-Borne Disease screening
  • Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus screening

In house microscopy include:

  • Urinalysis
  • Evaluates kidney and bladder function
  • Ear Cytology
  • Used to determine type and severity of ear infection
  • Mass Cytology
  • Evaluates the cells that make up a mass

  • Fecal Centrifugation
  • Determines type and severity of internal parasite infestation
  • Skin Scraping
  • Evaluates the skin cells and hair follicles for abnormalities and parasites
  • Impression Smear
  • Evaluates the skin cells for abnormalities and yeast or bacterial infections
